Nottingham Forest have explained why Matz Sels, Elliot Anderson, Ola Aina and Omari Hutchinson missed Saturday’s open training at the City Ground.

The club said in a statement that Sels and Anderson were resting after recent international duty, while Aina and Hutchinson were following individual programmes and would not join the group for the session.

All four started the win over Tottenham before the international break and are expected to be involved across the next seven days.

Forest are managing workloads carefully with four fixtures in 10 days, beginning with a Europa League quarter-final first leg at Porto next Thursday.

Three successive home matches follow, with the return leg scheduled between meetings with Aston Villa and Burnley. After the session, Vitor Pereira delivered a message of unity to supporters, urging everyone to stick together in difficult moments.
