Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson is reported to have opted to represent England on the international stage moving forward.

The 20-year-old represented England at both Under-17 and Under-19 level during his time in the Arsenal academy but accepted a call-up to the senior Jamaica squad in March 2023, ultimately making two appearances for the Caribbean nation that didn't lock him in permanently.

As noted by The Athletic, Hutchinson has held regular conversations with Jamaica over the past year as they sought a formal commitment on his allegiance, while some England Under-21 officials have also worked to bring him back into the fold.

However, aspirations to compete for major silverware have seen Surrey-born Hutchinson accept the chance to represent England once again.

He was part of England's Under-21 squad earlier this season but quickly withdrew due to injury, sparking fears that he was reluctant to represent the Three Lions, but Hutchinson's final decision to turn out for the country os his birth has now been made clear.

Hutchinson, who left Chelsea for Ipswich for an initial £20m during the summer, recognises the challenges that come with forcing his way into the England squad but is braced for the fight.

Domestically, Hutchinson has made seven Premier League appearances for Ipswich this season, contributing an assist in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
