One former Chelsea player says that Enzo Maresca should have the backing of everyone at the club right now.

Maresca has won two trophies as Chelsea boss so far, lifting The Conference League trophy as well as The Club World Cup over the summer. He also got the team back into the Champions League with his Premier League finish last season.

EXCLUSIVE! Real Madrid readying Enzo Fernandez offer and we can reveal the SIX replacements Chelsea are looking at!

There’s been bumps in the road, some really big bumps in the road, and we have even seen those bumps again this season before the last two games as Chelsea went through a bit of a mini slump. But overall, Maresca is doing a pretty good job as Blues boss and appears to be winning more and more Chelsea fans over as the days go on. I think there will be some who will never be convinced though, but overall the majority do seem to be on his side now.

Enzo Maresca gets called out for not listening in his press conference.

Former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet believes The Blues head coach has now done enough to get the backing of everyone at Chelsea.

Speaking to Sports Mole this week, Poyet said:

“Maresca should have the backing of everyone at Chelsea. He delivered top four last season, won a European trophy and then guided the club to Club World Cup.

“This season has started well with the injuries and also red cards. Chelsea are in a good place and will look to push for another top-four finish and go for cup wins again.”

There are some very high hopes for Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders who is currently on loan with sister club Strasbourg. Chelsea may not have signed a new goalkeeper in the summer due to having full faith in Penders.

Chelsea are looking into making a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo according to a former scout this week.
