According to TeamTalk, Igor Tudor is expected to leave his interim post at Tottenham Hotspur, with former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton among candidates to replace him.
Tudor, formerly of Juventus and Croatia, took over after Thomas Frank left last month. His debut was a 4-1 home loss to Arsenal and he has not won any of five league games, collecting a point in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.
His only win came in Europe, 3-2 at home to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16, after a 5-2 first-leg defeat. Spurs then fell 3-0 at home to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest, leaving them one point and one place above the drop zone.
The report said weeks of internal discussions preceded a planned mutual parting, with an agreement to act if Forest won at Tottenham. It added Tudor is prepared to step aside following the death of his father, Mario.
Tottenham have a shortlist featuring former Monaco coach Adi Hutter and Hughton, who made over 300 Spurs appearances and spent 14 years on the staff.
Hughton left Spurs in February 2008 to join Newcastle, later taking the manager’s job, and remains the last boss to guide the Magpies to a home Tyne-Wear derby win, in October 2010.
Should a change be made, the new interim manager’s first game would be at Sunderland on Sunday, April 12, as the Black Cats aim to deepen Tottenham’s relegation worries and boost their push for Europe.
