Arsenal have announced that Rangers academy graduate Archie Stevens has signed his first professional contract with them following a successful trial.

The 19-year-old winger was released by Rangers in May after his contract expired, with his three-year Ibrox stay ending after an agreement over an extension could not be reached.

Stevens joined the Gers academy from AFC Wimbledon in June 2022. He made his senior debut in August 2022, aged 16, as a substitute against Queen of the South in the Scottish League Cup.

He regularly featured for Rangers B before moving to Scottish Championship club Dunfermline Athletic on loan in January 2025, where he played ten games.

The England youth international earned a trial with the Arsenal under-21s during pre-season, playing against Chelmsford City and Monaco II.

Stevens impressed, scoring against the under-21s of the Ligue 1 club.

The Gunners were impressed with what they saw from the former Rangers winger, and he will be joining their under-21s after signing a professional contract with the club.

Stevens could not break into the first team at Rangers. He will now look to prove himself in the Arsenal youth ranks and force his way into their Premier League plans.

He will need to improve significantly in the coming years to have any chance of playing for the Gunners’ first team, and he will fancy his chances.
