Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello recently shared his thoughts on Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the club, offering a detailed analysis of the current situation surrounding the team.
Capello was asked about the challenges Real Madrid are facing, particularly following their disappointing elimination from the Champions League and the inconsistent performances that have plagued the squad.
Furthermore, the Italian coach did not shy away from addressing the team’s struggles, pointing out a distinct lack of fight and energy in their recent performances.
“Madrid suffers, Carlo, the president, and the fans also suffer,” he stated.
“The elimination against Arsenal was a strange game, with a Madrid that I didn’t see play normally, I didn’t see their usual grit.
“That doesn’t mean that Arsenal looked like they played a good game.” Capello’s critique of Madrid’s performance against Arsenal was clear, but he also tempered it by acknowledging that Arsenal did not exactly shine either.

Capello, a close associate of Ancelotti, was quick to defend the current manager, highlighting the numerous challenges he has faced this season.
“Carlo can’t solve all Madrid’s problems, even if he is the winningest coach in the world. For example, this year he has suffered many injuries and has had to build a new defence every game.
“Also, with the departure of Kroos, it has been left without a clear conductor.”
The lack of Toni Kroos in the midfield has been a major concern for Ancelotti, according to Capello.
“The heart of the team fails, Kroos is much missed. With him the plays were born and he was the decisive filter to organise the defence,” Capello explained.
Amid the swirling rumours about a potential managerial change, Capello expressed his hope that Real Madrid would stick by Ancelotti.
“I hope they don’t sack Ancelotti. I would like them to show him the same respect that he has for Real Madrid,” he concluded, making it clear that he believes the Italian manager deserves more time to turn things around.
