Wolves are set to sign former England international Kieran Trippier after his release from Newcastle United.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the ex-Atletico Madrid and Spurs defender is out of contract this summer amid Premier League and Saudi Pro League interest, yet Wolves have a verbal two-year agreement. The club are also weighing further free agents as they build for an automatic Premier League return.
Here are four other potential free signings who could suit their summer rebuild.
Dennis Cirkin, Sunderland left back, was linked with Wolves last summer after starring in the Black Cats’ Championship play-off win. Injuries and a loss of favour followed as Sunderland qualified for Europe, and he is out of contract. His second-tier experience could make him a shrewd pick-up.
Axel Tuanzebe, 28, made 14 Premier League starts for Burnley last season after a one-year move from Ipswich Town. He helped Ipswich win promotion in 2024/25, then made 22 appearances the following campaign. If Burnley do not renew, he offers top-flight minutes and Championship promotion know-how.
Solly March’s Brighton exit was confirmed last week after more than 300 appearances across 14 seasons. Injuries have hampered him, but at 31 he still has plenty to give and there is Premier League interest. He would bring top-level experience and quality in the Championship.
Josh Laurent, 31, is also out of contract at Burnley. The versatile midfielder was pivotal in their promotion two seasons ago, then featured heavily in the Premier League. He should attract strong interest this summer.
