Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

Like the previous week, Sunday saw Brentford outdo their opponents for attempts (10 v 7) and shots inside the box (9 v 5). Only Manchester City have more Opta-defined big chances over the season, with the Bees’ 70 outdoing the likes of Arsenal and defending champions Liverpool.

Similarly, Man City are the sole team that can boast a better rate of converting shots into goals (14.5%).

Brentford were unlucky not to score in Gameweek 23. Igor Thiago (£7.2m) was unable to convert Kevin Schade’s (£7.2m) second-minute cross from close range and Mathias Jensen (£4.9m) set up a couple of big moments for Dango Ouattara (£5.8m), who was top for expected goals (xG) underachievers, meaning he was very unlucky not to score in this one.

Sepp van den Berg (£4.5m) came on in the 37th minute and came close to converting a long Michael Kayode (£4.5m) throw.

The Spotlight

Jensen isn’t the only £4.9m Brentford midfielder to have impressed recently. Although it took Vitaly Janelt (4.9m) several months to secure a first league start, he’s been named in the last eight line-ups.

And from Gameweek 17 onwards, Janelt’s four FPL assists are more than anyone else in the league.

All but one of these have come in the latest four outings, a time of nine chances created and many set-pieces.

Over this seven-Gameweek sample size, he ranks fifth for corners taken (21) and defensive contribution points, successfully reaching the latter’s threshold on five occasions.

Janelt is Brentford’s joint-best player for 2025/26 assists. For those about to activate their Wildcard in Gameweek 24, he’s an intriguing cheap midfielder.

Best of the Rest

Meanwhile, the latest round of top-flight action felt chaotic, thanks to the big-name benchings of Erling Haaland (£15.1m), Phil Foden (£8.5m) and Hugo Ekitike (£8.8m), alongside the absences of Cole Palmer (£10.4m) and Bruno Guimarães (£7.2m).

Making things worse was the lack of points from Arsenal assets, although highly-owned Antoine Semenyo (£7.8m) and Harry Wilson (£6.0m) were able to score.

Leading the way for points were the 13 of Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.6m) and Estêvão (£6.4m), who both provided a goal and an assist. Both Jarrod Bowen (£7.6m) and João Pedro (£7.2m) did the same but, as forwards, secured one less point for their strikes.

In Demand

A dramatic Sunday afternoon clash saw Arsenal lose their unbeaten home record to Manchester United. Interim boss Michael Carrick has secured consecutive wins over Manchester City and the Gunners.

Not only was Bruno Fernandes (£9.4m) the most-bought individual for Gameweek 23, but he leads the way this time too, closely followed by team-mate Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m).

There’s also some love for João Pedro and Enzo Fernández (£6.7m), taking Chelsea’s promising next four fixtures into account. They’re against West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United, then Burnley.

Making way are some of the previously mentioned injured and benched players.

Captaincy

For many, the weekend of finally going against Erling Haaland didn’t pay off, as the likes of Bukayo Saka (£10.1m), Hugo Ekitike and Thiago blanked with the armband as well.

But the Norwegian has three goals from his last two visits to Tottenham Hotspur, putting him at the forefront of managers’ minds.

There could also be a temptation to captain a Manchester United or Chelsea attacker at home to Fulham and West Ham respectively.
