France 1-1 Netherlands ratings: Katoto combative, De Almeida struggles | OneFootball

France were held 1-1 by the Netherlands in their push for 2027 World Cup qualification, Marie-Antoinette Katoto opening the scoring before an equaliser followed Elisa De Almeida’s mistake.

L'Équipe highlighted Katoto’s influence and De Almeida’s difficulties in their player ratings. Katoto’s header from a precise Sandy Baltimore cross brought her 43rd international goal.

Deployed at left back in place of Selma Bacha, Baltimore overcame a shaky start and grew into the game. She later sliced wide with her right foot in the 61st minute when well placed.

Katoto’s work-rate stood out, including a headed clearance from a corner in the 36th minute and another intervention in her box in the 63rd minute. She went close to a second in the 58th minute, then created Baltimore’s chance at 61, before yielding to Melvine Malard in the 72nd minute.

The Netherlands levelled in the 76th minute, De Almeida misjudging against Esmee Brugts, who crossed for Jill Roord Kaptein to head in. Soon after, Grace Geyoro won the ball and struck the crossbar from 20 metres in the 79th minute.

Thiniba Samoura entered in the 61st minute and added calm to Laurent Bonadei’s back three, tidy in possession and strong in the duels. On the left of France’s attack, Clara Mateo faded after a bright opening and was replaced by Delphine Cascarino in the 61st minute on her return.
