The France Official Supporters' Club (OSC) gathered in Paris before our Champions League game at the Parc des Princes. During the event, they were able to get photos with the trophies and meet former City player Ali Bernarbia.
Members of the France branch met up at the Bootleg, their traditional Paris venue, to enjoy the trophies won during the 23/24 season.
Forty members turned out for the event to meet one of City's former players, Ali Benarbia, who was present for the occasion.
The Algerian, who played for City between 2001 and 2003, took part in a Q&A session, as part of the French Moon podcast, created by supporters of the France branch and due to be broadcasted shortly.
The French fans then mingled with fans from the UK and the rest of the world to create a warm atmosphere before the match, before heading to the stadium for the match.
An event with a friendly spirit, and a chance for members of the branch to get to know each other.
“It was a pleasure to share this event in the presence of branch members and Ali Benabia here in Paris for this prestigious evening. It enabled us to get to know each other and share our experiences. I would also like to thank the Club for giving me the opportunity to see the trophies in such a warm atmosphere”, said Emre, one of the members of the France branch.
Despite the defeat, the members of the branch were happy to share a moment together, to be able to approach the trophies and to meet a player who has marked the club's history, as Nelson explains:
“Before kick-off, we were at the Bootleg bar with English supporters in an incredible atmosphere. The Club's trophies were on display, and we even had the chance to talk with City legend Ali Benarbia.
The branch organised the event very well, making it even more special. The evening would have been more beautiful with a victory, but that's part of the game - you must accept defeats, even if it's always difficult. All in all, it was a great evening with many memorable moments.”
Despite the disappointing result, the French fans were happy to share this moment together: “Even with the defeat, if I had to do it again, I'd sign up straight away! Thank you for organising the event,” said Nicolas, one of the members present that day.
