Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram has returned to fitness for the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the France international will be on the bench for the match.

Thuram picked up a minor injury during Inter’s Supercoppa semifinal against Atalanta.

The 27-year-old started out that match. And he played out the first half.

However, Thuram was feeling some discomfort in his left thigh, which he was unable to shake off. Therefore, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi removed him for the start of the second half.

Mehdi Taremi replaced Thuram.

Subsequent medical tests confirmed that Thuram had suffered a slight elongation to the adductor muscles in his left leg.

This put the Frenchman’s availability in significant doubt for the Supercoppa final.

Inter face off against AC Milan in the final after the Rossoneri beat Juventus in the other semifinal.

However, over the last few days, Thuram has recovered, reports the Gazzetta.

There have not been any new medical tests for the 27-year-old. But according to the Gazzetta, the signs from training are positive.

There will still be caution with Thuram’s fitness, naturally. Therefore, the France international will not start this evening’s final.

However, Thuram will be on the bench for the match.
