The French Football Federation announced in Abidjan that France will face Côte d'Ivoire in a World Cup warm-up on four June in Nantes.

Four days later, Les Bleus will play again in Lille, against an opponent to be decided once the World Cup qualifying play-offs conclude at the end of March.

The fixtures form part of preparations for the tournament, where France will meet Senegal.

The Nantes date was presented as reflecting friendly ties between the two federations, and as a nod to the two head coaches who came through Nantes' academy.

Separately, Côte d'Ivoire has positioned itself to stage the Trophée des champions, contested by the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France winners.
