Frank Lampard is lining up potential moves for Coventry City in the summer transfer market
Coventry City are preparing for life back in the Premier League after a 25-year absence.
The Sky Blues won the Championship title on their way back to the big time, where they haven’t competed since 2001.
Frank Lampard has earned a lot of praise for his role in their success, having taken over as head coach in November 2024 in place of Mark Robins.
He led the team to a fifth place finish last season, but suffered play-off disappointment in the semi-finals against Sunderland.
However, the 47-year-old was able to regroup with the squad, and they have achieved top spot this year ahead of the likes of Ipswich Town, Millwall and Middlesbrough.
It could now be a busy summer ahead, with the club looking to build a team capable of surviving in the top flight.

It has been reported by Si Phillips that Lampard is pushing to reunite with his former Chelsea star Mason Mount.
The pair worked together initially at Derby County during the playmaker’s loan spell with the club in 2018/19 before linking back up at Stamford Bridge in 2019.
And Lampard is now keen to work with the 27-year-old again following Coventry’s promotion to the Premier League.
The midfielder departed the Blues in the 2023 summer transfer window, making the switch to Manchester United in a reported £55 million deal.
However, he has struggled for game time at Old Trafford, with injuries hampering his availability over the last three years.
Mount has featured 20 times in the Premier League this season, although he has started on just 10 occasions, with the Red Devils closing in on Champions League qualification.
But it remains to be seen whether his future is with Man United, as he has made just four appearances since the appointment of Michael Carrick in January, all of which came as a substitute.
Mount has a contract with the Premier League side until June 2028, and it is unclear what kind of asking price could be set if Coventry push for his signature.
The Sky Blues have also been linked with a potential move to bring James Maddison back to the club.
It is also believed that they are favourites to secure the permanent signing of Carl Rushworth, who has spent the season on loan at the CBS Arena.

Mount’s fitness issues are well documented, and it’s been a real barrier to progress at Man United, as he has performed well when available.
It would be a big risk for Coventry to take on that risk, potentially as his signature likely won’t be cheap, nor will his wage demands.
Lampard saw the very best of Mount, and perhaps working together again could bear fruit, provided he can stay fit.
The 27-year-old has shown flashes of his old self this season, but it’s clear that he has now fallen down the pecking order under Carrick, who is in line to become the next permanent head coach at Old Trafford.
That could open the door to an exit from the club, and potentially a move to the CBS Arena.
