The Sky Blues remain top of the second tier despite losing two of their last three league games, including their 3-2 defeat to Birmingham City on 4 January.

Lampard's men were also knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend, courtesy of a 1-0 loss to Stoke City, which witnessed an 88th-minute winner from Lamine Cisse.

Meanwhile, Leicester climbed back into the top half of the Championship by defeating West Brom 1-0 on 5 January, before beating League Two outfit Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup.

Coventry must defeat the Foxes on Saturday to retain their current six-point lead over Middlesbrough, who travel to West Brom on Friday night.

Current form suggests that Lampard's men could struggle against Marti Cifuentes's side, though, as the King Power Stadium club have won three of their last four games across all competitions.

However, the Sky Blues will be in good shape to take on Leicester, as Lampard has revealed that both Victor Torp and Brandon Thomas-Asante, who had previously been missing through injury, could feature at the CBS Arena.

Speaking to Coventry Live on Friday, the former Chelsea boss said: "Torpy and Brandon are in contention for tomorrow."

Lampard also provided an update on full-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden, who last featured on New Year's Day: "Yeah, he’s a couple of weeks away, but he’s doing well."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Oliver Dovin remains a long-term absentee, with the Sky Blues boss adding: "He’s progressing well, but I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t got an absolute update on that just in this last week where I’ve been focussing on other things.

"But he’s progressing well. He’s not on the training pitch yet, and I don’t want to put any pressure on that timeline. We’re hoping he’s available for us this season, but as far as I’m concerned, I haven’t got the exact idea of when, and I don’t want to commit to something."

Torp's last outing arrived when Coventry lost 2-0 to Ipswich Town on 29 December, whereas Thomas-Asante has been absent for his side since a 4-2 victory over Middlesbrough back in November.

Lampard's side have enjoyed a largely successful season, and deservedly sit top of the Championship with 20 games remaining.

However, their title hopes and automatic promotion credentials have taken a dent in recent weeks, with just one win in their last four league attempts.

Therefore, the returns of both Torp and Thomas-Asante, who have been influential figures for the Sky Blues this term, are a timely boost for Lampard.

Torp has proven himself as one of the best Championship midfielders in recent seasons, and he has notched a strong return of seven goals and four assists in 21 league appearances this season.

Meanwhile, striker Thomas-Asante has proven his worth by scoring 10 goals in 17 second-tier outings this campaign, and will be eager to get on the scoresheet against Leicester.
