Owls fans would no doubt like a period of calmness and no drama at some point - one which hasn't arisen since the end of the 2024-25 season thanks to all the rumours surrounding Danny Rohl's future as manager.

Fresh drama has arisen this weekend though - and unless something changes soon, there could be worse news to come.

Players, coaching staff and individuals behind the scenes were expected to be given their pay packets for the month on Friday, but that came and went without anyone receiving their full earnings.

News first broke on Friday afternoon from journalist Rob Staton that players and staff had not been paid, in what was a reoccurrence of an issue from the month of March, in which payment was delayed until April 8 due to Chansiri's personal cash flow issues.

The issue has once again reared its ugly head though, and two days after news broke of another wage debacle, players and staff still do not have their salaries satisfied for May.

Significant concerns have been expressed, as per the Sheffield Star, due to the fact that "lower-paid non-footballing staff" have only received a portion of their wages for the month, and despite the rules stating that Sunday night would be the deadline for all players and staff to be paid before a three transfer window registration ban would come into effect, the Star's sources suggest a Monday deadline to be paid is being worked towards.

As expected, there has been plenty of negative reaction towards Chansiri for his latest actions - controversy is never too far away when it comes to the Thai businessman.

For the second time in three months, players and staff have been left waiting for their wages, and whilst it's more-than likely they'll receive their money in the next few days, it's still not good enough whatsoever.

Danny Rohl has made it clear to multiple outlets that he sees himself away from Hillsborough this summer, but avenues are closing for him, and his relationship with Chansiri appears to be untenable - this latest mishap won't help those matters whatsoever.
