It’s not often we get good news on the injury front lately, but just days before a defining run of fixtures, Liverpool have finally been handed a timely boost involving Jeremie Frimpong.

After a worrying international break moment, the Dutch defender has now been pictured back in full training alongside Mo Salah and Alexander Isak, offering a huge lift ahead of clashes with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Frimpong injury fears eased after international break

Concerns around the 25-year-old had grown after his early withdrawal for the Netherlands, with reports suggesting he was taken off “possibly due to an injury” after just 14 minutes on the pitch.

Given his difficult campaign, which has already seen multiple injury setbacks, this was the last thing we needed heading into such a crucial stage of the season.

However, Liverpoolfc.com have now provided clarity, confirming his involvement in training, sharing images on the club site.

That will be enough to calm nerves across the fanbase, especially considering how important the right-sided defender has become in Arne Slot’s system.

Seeing him back on the grass suggests the issue was minor, and more importantly, that he could be available for the FA Cup tie against Manchester City.

Isak return adds major attacking boost for Liverpool

Alongside Frimpong, the sight of Isak back with the group could prove even more significant for us.

The Swedish striker has been out for months, but Arne Slot this week hinted at his imminent return, explaining: “If you’ve worked so hard for three, four months or something like that and then to return to team training, that’s for everyone very nice.”

He added: “It’s good to have him back because we all know who we signed and we’ve signed an incredible striker.”

That return comes at the perfect time, especially after we struggled for cutting edge in the defeat to Brighton, where injuries once again disrupted rhythm and selection.

With Manchester City, PSG, Fulham and Everton all coming up, having both a dynamic full-back and a top-level forward back in contention could make a huge difference.

After weeks of setbacks, this finally feels like a moment where things might just be swinging back in our favour at exactly the right time.
