From Old Trafford bench to Turin? Juventus see opening in Zirkzee situation
Juventus reportedly pushing to sign Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee to strengthen their attack this winter.
Italian media reported on Tuesday that Juventus are working to bring in new striker during the current January transfer window with Man United forward Joshua Zirkzee emerging as serious target.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti wants attacking addition this month and the Dutch striker is now high on the club’s list.
Juventus have been searching for more options up front and Zirkzee’s situation in England has made him attractive opportunity.
Zirkzee 24 has struggled to get regular playing time at Manchester United since joining from Bologna.
The lack of consistent starts has raised doubts about his long-term role at Old Trafford.
The Italian newspaper added that the striker is also concerned about his international future as he fears missing out on selection for the Netherlands squad for FIFA World Cup 2026 if he does not play more often.
Man United have recently appointed Michael Carrick as their head coach but it remains unclear whether Zirkzee is part of the club’s future plans.
With the January window open, Juventus believe the conditions could allow deal to happen quickly especially if the player is open to move for more minutes.
Juventus already tried to sign Zirkzee in the summer of 2024 and their interest has now returned.
Reports suggest Juventus are considering loan move with option to buy which would reduce immediate financial pressure while giving the club time to assess the striker’s impact.
