The Brazilian made a positive impact, but could be made to wait before returning to the pitch
Marco Silva has confirmed Kevin has injured his shoulder following Fulham's 1-0 win over Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup.
The 22-year-old went down in the 79th minute following a challenge from Cambridge right-back Liam Bennett and received treatment on the pitch.
Kevin played on until his substitution in the 87th minute, but Silva says Fulham's club-record signing will now be assessed ahead of the weekend's trip to Aston Villa.
“We’ll have to see in the next few hours. It is located in the shoulder and we’ll see if it’s something serious or not,” Silva said at full-time.
"Right now it's full of pain there, and we have to wait to see if he goes to a scan or not, and to be more clear with you and to have a clear feedback to give you.
"Right now, let's see what's going to happen, but not something that he didn't feel after. He keeps feeling the pain there and we have to wait."
Kevin made a positive impression on his full debut, linking up well with left-back Antonee Robinson, but Silva said the winger still needs time to adapt, having arrived at the club on Deadline Day from Shakhtar Donetsk.
"Kevin is in the process," Silva continued as he bemoaned the lack of creativity on show from his side.
"Kevin arrived in our football club 22 days ago or 23 days ago. I think it's a normal process. The first 15 days, almost 10 days, he was training with 11 players just in the training ground. You can imagine how long it will take.
"Of course, all of you agree that the reason why we brought him to our football club (is) that he's very talented. He has something in terms of profile, something different.
"If you look at our squad, he's definitely very aggressive, one-on-one player. It's something we're looking to strengthen in our squad.”
Kevin faces competition for minutes from Alex Iwobi, who scored and assisted during Fulham's 3-1 win over Brentford at the weekend, with Silva going on to say the Brazilian was not a guaranteed starter.
"He needs time to understand. He needs time to understand his teammates, to understand the type of football he's going to play.
"Football is the same everywhere. 11 against 11 with the ball there, but other teams they are different in the Premier League and in England for sure than in some of the other countries.
"It's good to see him playing almost 90 minutes. He's been involved in almost all the games he's been with us. Step by step, he's going to understand better everything.
"He has strong, strong competition in the wide areas on the pitch. For example, the performance from Alex Iwobi last game.
"It's always good to see him playing. As more minutes he's going to have, the quicker he's going to adapt to our football club."
