According to Meu Timao, 21-year-old right-back Gabriel Caipira has returned to Corinthians after nearly four months on loan at Betim for the Brazilian Série D.
His loan ended following Betim’s last 16 exit to CSA on 13 July. He now awaits authorisation from Corinthians to report to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava and learn his programme through to 31 December 2026.
Having turned 21, he aged out of the academy after the 2026 Copinha, but missed the tournament with a tibial stress fracture. Without first-team opportunities, he trained separately before the Betim move.
At Betim he became a regular starter, playing 12 matches and scoring one goal. The club’s calendar ended with the Série D elimination. Earlier, they went out in the Campeonato Mineiro’s first phase and lost 2-0 to Operário in the Copa do Brasil’s second phase.
Caipira spent almost all of his development at Corinthians. In 2024 he was used as a forward at times, and he is from the same cohort as Gabriel Moscardo, Wesley and Breno Bidon.
In 2025 he impressed for the Under-20s with six assists and captained the side. The senior squad currently have Matheuzinho and Pedro Milans at right-back, with André Ramalho, Cacá, João Pedro Tchoca and Charles also used there.
