Gaizka Larrazabal joins Bolton Wanderers on two-year deal with option | OneFootball

Gaizka Larrazabal has joined Bolton Wanderers on a two-year contract, with an option for a third. The move comes as Bolton return to the second tier of English football after 10 years.

As reported by as.com, the 28-year-old arrives after three seasons at Casa Pia, where he played 109 games and scored 12 goals.

He came through Bilbao Athletic and featured for the first team between 2017 and 2020, but could not establish himself. After featuring in only 11 matches in the 2019-20 campaign, he agreed to terminate the final year of his contract during the pandemic.

He then moved to Zaragoza and Amorebieta. Versatile as a right-back and right winger, he left due to a lack of opportunities.

Larrazabal is the son of Aitor, who left a lasting mark at Athletic and is now sporting director at Sestao River.

At Bolton he joins fellow additions midfielder David Watson, centre-backs Ben Davies and Akin Famewo, full-back Luca Stephenson and winger Kyliane Dong.
