Klara Bühl scored once again as Germany reached the final of the UEFA Women’s Nations League for the first time, while Denmark and Austria won their respective play-offs with FC Bayern Women players involved to stay in their current league. fcbayern.com rounds up the action from October’s international break.
Bühl, Giulia Gwinn, Franziska Kett, Lea Schüller and Alara Şehitler were all involved as Germany battled to a 2-2 draw in Caen that secured their place in the Nations League final for the first time.
Christian Wück’s team had won the first leg of the semi-final against France 1-0 but went behind inside three minutes of the return fixture. Nicole Anyomi levelled things on the night after 12 minutes before Bühl gave Germany some breathing space when she fired in under the crossbar. Clara Mateo got one back for France in the closing moments, but Germany prevailed 3-2 on aggregate and will now face world champions Spain in the final on 28 November and 2 December.

Klara Bühl struck in both legs of Germany’s semi-final win over France.
Four more Bayern players were able to celebrate on international duty as Danish duo Pernille Harder and Stine Ballisager, as well as Katharina Naschenweng and Maria Plattner of Austria, both won their play-off ties to remain in League A. Denmark prevailed 2-0 over Finland, with Harder netting a penalty in the 85th minute to round out the 8-1 aggregate win.

Pernille Harder’s penalty wrapped up League A status for Denmark.
Things were far tighter for Austria, who had to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit to the Czech Republic. It took a 90th-minute goal from Jennifer Klein to earn a 2-0 win in Vienna and stay in League A with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Heavy snowfall in Iceland meant that Bayern captain Glódis Viggósdóttir will play her decisive second leg against Northern Ireland on Wednesday evening.

Austria needed a late goal to win their Nations League play-off tie.
Georgia Stanway played in England’s 3-0 friendly win over Australia, scoring the third from the penalty spot in added time. Natalia Padilla Bidas and Poland earned a 5-2 friendly victory over Wales, with the Bayern forward providing an assist.
