Dunkerque plan a calm winter while protecting a blossoming identity. According to L'Équipe, Gessime Yassine is expected to join Strasbourg on a four-and-a-half-year deal, a move worth about seven million euros that would be the biggest sale in the club’s history.
Unbeaten in Ligue 2 since 18 October, they last fell 1-0 to Montpellier at Tribut via Alexandre Mendy’s late strike. After a disrupted start under Gonçalo Feio and the later arrival of Albert Sanchez, they were 14th with two wins from 10.
Three months on they have six wins and two draws in that spell and sit sixth on 30 points, behind Reims and Red Star on 32, and Saint-Étienne and Le Mans on 31. Their latest outing brought a 3-1 victory at La Mosson.
Sanchez has underlined the need to play with confidence, identity and values, to keep the same mentality and style, and to try to win every match.
The 20-year-old right winger is not alone in attracting suitors. Lyon considered Alec Georgen, 27, who is out of contract on 30 June, but he is expected to stay. Enzo Bardeli, eight goals this season, will be free from July and a January exit is not planned.
Incomings remain targeted, with an experienced defensive midfielder hoped for. Maedine Makhloufi, 20, has joined from Saint-Étienne to cover the long-term absence of left-back Felipe Abner. Geoffrey Kondo, 23 and contracted to 2028, has interest from Club Bruges, but Dunkerque do not intend to sell.
