The hamstring injury to Marc Cucurella picked up a couple of weeks ago has been devastating for Chelsea.
They were 2-0 up against Leeds when he went off. In that second half they conceded two goals. They then drew with Burnley in the next Premier League game, then lost to Arsenal. We desperately need the Spaniard back for the run-in.

Filling in for him at times has been Jorrel Hato, who has been speaking to the club’s official website about his role as a backup:
“I came here this season, it was a big step to the Premier League from the Dutch league. I’m not playing every game, but I know I’m improving every day to get the minutes that I want,” the 19 year old said.
“So I know I have to improve for myself as well, to get more minutes, but I try to improve every day, in every training session, in every game. So I’m happy.”
He’s unlucky in a way that Cucurella is such a consistent presence in the first team, and has barely had an injury until now. Hato has still managed 23 appearances in all competitions this season, and has shown good progress.
Hato also spoke about Chelsea’s game against Aston Villa tomorrow night, which he’s expected to start. He called it “a big one,” and he’s not wrong.
Chelsea’s desire to sort out their awful discipline problems has led to the club taking action behind the scenes.
There’s been another week of slamming Robert Sanchez for poor performances, with one pundit calling him “embarrassing” after some hairy moments against Arsenal.
