Getafe have accelerated their January business, announcing the loan signings of Sebastián Boselli and Zaid Romero. The club moved after waiting on Financial Fair Play, and following José Bordalás’s appeal to Ángel Torres amid a thin squad and injuries including Borja Mayoral. The deals were finalised across Friday night and Saturday morning.
The club said in a statement that Boselli, a 22-year-old Uruguayan, arrives from River Plate on loan with an option to buy. Developed at Defensor Sporting, he is a Uruguay under-20 and under-23 international with experience in Argentine football and the Copa Libertadores. He can also cover at right-back.
Romero, a 26-year-old Argentine centre-back, joins from Club Brugge on loan to the end of the season, with no option disclosed. He adds solidity and aerial power. He has been in Brugge’s squad since 24/25, with strong showings in the Belgian league and Champions League appearances.
Getafe had already announced centre-forward Martín Satriano. The striker could make his debut this weekend at the Coliseum against Carlos Corberán’s side.
With three additions in quick succession, Bordalás now has reinforcements to start collecting points towards survival straight away.
