Gianluca Mancini suffers injury, doubtful for Pisa clash | OneFootball

Gianluca Mancini went down with an injury in the first half of Roma’s 5-2 defeat to Inter.

Gian Piero Gasperini replaced him with Daniele Ghilardi.

Shortly after the goal that temporarily tied the game, the Giallorossi number 23 collided with Marcus Thuram: the Italian was the worst of it, and grimaced in pain after the challenge. He tried to grit his teeth, but ultimately was forced to sit on the bench.

Mancini’s condition needs to be assessed: the Roma defender has suffered a muscle problem in his right adductor. He will undergo tests in the coming days to assess the extent of the injury.

Another blow for Gasperini, who in the press conference had emphasized the importance of the number 23: “He’s a lynchpin, he’s an important player. When we manage to have a full squad, like we did in the first half of the season, we’re much more competitive.”
