Giva, 33, once tipped as Neymar’s heir at Santos, has left Amazonas outfit Manauara after only one month without a goal, according to Globo.com.

Signed in February to lead the line, the forward featured in three matches and did not score. He had been earmarked for prominence in the Copa do Brasil, where Fortaleza ended Manauara’s run, and in Série D, the club’s main 2026 target.

Before arriving in Amazonas, he played six times without scoring for Treze. For Manauara he featured in a 0-0 draw with Amazonas, a 3-1 win over Itabaiana in the Copa do Brasil second phase, and a loss to Nacional in the Campeonato Amazonense semi-final.

Born in Cachoeira, Bahia, he came through Santos’s academy and reached the first team during Neymar’s final season in Brazil. After winning the 2013 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, he impressed for pace, movement and finishing, and featured alongside Neymar in Paulista and Copa do Brasil games.

Injuries stalled his progress, with shoulder and pubis surgeries in 2013, prompting a career of moves in Brazil and abroad. In 2024 with Retrô FC Brasil he scored in a 2-1 win over Manauara in Manaus, a result that eliminated the Amazonas side. His clubs include Coritiba, Figueirense, Joinville, Ponte Preta, CSA, Retrô, América-RN, UE Llagostera and CF Badalona.
