Go Ahead Eagles have a new goalkeeper. The club have announced that Kjetil Haug has made the move from Toulouse to join the Eredivisie club. This looks like a replacement signing for the sides number one Jari De Busser, who is expected to leave the club this summer. De Busser has been open about wanting to prove himself at a higher level and is hoping to earn a transfer this summer. Clearly Go Ahead Eagles have decided to move at the beginning of the window so that they aren’t scrambling to find a replacement for De Busser later on.

Haug began his career in the academies of both Wolves and Manchester City. Haug never made a senior appearance for Wolves or Manchester City, leaving in 2018 to join Norwegian side Sogndal. In 2019 he moved to Oslo based side Vålerenga, where he played 30 games before leaving in 2022 to join Toulouse. Since joining the French side Haug has played 18 games, with most of his time in France actually spent back in Norway on loan.

For the second half of that campaign he was loaned to ODD, where he played 11 games. This past season he played six games for Toulouse, with five of these coming in the Coupe de France.
