Leeds United were minutes from an away win before drawing 1-1 at Aston Villa, a result that leaves Daniel Farke’s side with two defeats in 14 Premier League games.

As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, player ratings were issued after a disciplined showing at Villa Park.

Leeds delivered a near-perfect first half, then Anton Stach put them ahead on the half-hour with a magnificent curling free-kick from at least 30 yards that caught Emi Martinez.

Farke’s men largely defended their lead after the break but substitute Tammy Abraham forced in an equaliser off his thigh from a corner, and though Villa pressed late on, Leeds held firm for a point.

Karl Darlow scored 8, powerless for the goal and excellent late in the first half. Jayden Bogle earned 7, very solid until the pressure mounted when a couple of decisions went awry.

James Justin took 8, reading the game superbly at centre-back, then finding it tougher with Sancho at left wing-back. Joe Rodon also received 8, largely strong defensively but he lost the key aerial duel for the leveller, throwing himself into his work throughout.

Pascal Struijk was given 8, calm and progressive on the ball in the first half with only brief wobbles, defending well overall. Gabriel Gudmundsson got 6, making good runs to aid attacks but lacking end product, not at his sharpest and a misplaced pass conceded a corner.
