Great news for PSG in the Champions League

For his elbow to Xavi Simons during the match against Tottenham, Lucas Hernandez received a 3-match suspension. Paris Saint-Germain appealed and obtained a reduction of one match for their 29-year-old defender, as reported by Le Parisien.

“Ultimately, UEFA reduced the suspension of the 2018 World Cup champion. Paris Saint-Germain's appeal was successful. The control, ethics, and disciplinary committee of the European body reduced the sanction to two matches. Hernandez has already served one – against the Basques – and will only miss the game against the Lisbon team, while Paris is well on track in this Champions League phase.”

Hernandez, who has already served one match during the 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao, will miss the trip to face Sporting Portugal on matchday 7 but will finally be able to participate in the home game against Newcastle (matchday 8). Additional strength that could be beneficial in a schedule that is expected to remain busy.
