Grêmio agree Adriel loan to Portuguese club AVS with option to buy | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Grêmio have agreed to loan goalkeeper Adriel, 24, to AVS in Portugal. The deal will run to 30 June 2026 and includes an option to buy 70% of his economic rights.

He is due to travel to Portugal next week. Adriel had been on loan at Athletic, of Minas Gerais, until November, when Série B ended.

If AVS exercise the option, Grêmio will retain 30% of the player’s rights. The purchase value was not confirmed.

Adriel played 30 matches for Athletic in 2025, starting every game. The team finished 15th in Série B.

A Grêmio academy graduate, he started games in early 2023 but lost his place after what coach Renato Portaluppi then described as acts of indiscipline. He spent 2023 to 2024 on loan at Bahia, where opportunities were limited and the club opted not to exercise the purchase option. His contract with the Gaúcho club runs until the end of 2027.
