Grêmio have called up 18-year-old right-back Vitor Ramon to join the senior group. He recently turned 18 and was on holiday after the Copa São Paulo.
According to Globo.com, the move does not confirm a permanent promotion. He will be available for training and for Saturday’s game against Juventude at the Arena at 16:30.
The expectation is that coach Luís Castro will pick a reserve side, hence the need at right-back. In the defeat to Fluminense, João Pedro started but was withdrawn at half-time for Marcos Rocha, who played in the Gre-Nal last weekend.
Ramon was a starter throughout Grêmio’s run to the Copa São Paulo semi-finals. He made eight appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He is being monitored by Asian clubs and has extended his deal with Grêmio until the end of 2028. His release clause is 40 million euros, R$ 248.6 million.
