Grêmio are seeking Mandaca’s early release from Juventude, using his newly signed pre-contract that guarantees a January 2027 arrival as leverage.

According to Globo.com, the club hope Juventude will ease his exit, and the midfielder was keen to join from the outset.

Before turning to a pre-contract, Grêmio offered less than R$ four million plus a player. Talks were held with the Grêmio footballer, then Juventude pulled out the next day.

Mandaca was eligible to sign from the start of July, and his contract at Juventude runs until the end of the year.

Juventude and Corinthians hold 40% each of his economic rights, with CSP of Paraíba owning 20%. To bring him in before January, Grêmio must agree terms with all three, and the club are neither willing nor in a position to meet high fees for each.

Juventude have not set an asking price for an early release before his contract ends.

The CBF has opened an extraordinary window from nine to 17 July after league fixtures were brought forward ahead of the World Cup final. The international window runs from 20 July to 11 September.

Mandaca travelled with Juventude’s squad for Sunday’s match at Náutico, at the Aflitos, in the 16th round of Série B of the Brasileirão.
