Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes title rivals Arsenal are 'the best team in the world' right now.
City take on Wolves in thePremier League tomorrow, aiming to reduce a seven-point gap to Arsenal at the top of the table.
The North London side have been in impressive form this campaign, leading both thePremier League and the Champions League's league phase.
In midweek,Arsenal won 3-1 at Inter Milan to set a new club-record of seven consecutive Champions League wins. The result secured the Gunners' progress to the competition's last 16 with a game to spare.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League since 2003-04 and have never perviously won the Champions League. However, Mikel Arteta's side are well placed in both competitions, while Arsenal also remain in contention for the FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season.
Speaking to the media ahead of the visit of Wolves to the Etihad tomorrow, Guardiola said his team were trying to chase down the best side in world football in the title race.
"The best team right now in the world," he said ofArsenal.
"Look in theChampions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup. Hopefully, we can be close and hope they give us one chance to get them."
City will aim to recover from a disappointing week against 20th-placed Wolves. The Citizens were beaten 2-0 at Manchester United in thePremier League last weekend, before crashing to a Champions League loss at debutants Bodo/Glimt in midweek.
Despite those setbacks, Guardiola insisted he has full confidence in his team to turn results around.
"I have an extraordinary team and extraordinary players. We are a fantastic football team, I have no doubt about that."
