Pep Guardiola says his full focus is on making sure his players pick up a result at Bournemouth, rather than looking at other results.

City travel to the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday 19 May for a 19:30 (UK) kick-off, 24 hours after title rivals Arsenal host Burnley in their penultimate match of the season.

Just two points separate the sides at the top of the Premier League, and Guardiola admits he’d prefer the race to be in City’s hands heading into the final week of the campaign.

However, he says preparing his players for a difficult assignment against a side pushing for Champions League football allows him to block out any potential nerves at a key point in the season.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, our boss said: “Normally it’s nice to have the feeling that it’s under control but in the beginning as a manager I was more anxious.

“Now I just focus on us to prepare, which players are training and which players we have to use, which will have a good impact from the bench.”

Our trip to the south coast will also see Antoine Semenyo face his former club for the first time since joining City in the January transfer window.

Semenyo was City’s hero in the FA Cup final this weekend, with his clever back-heeled finish sealing a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley.

The boss is hopeful the Ghana international can have a similar impact on Tuesday evening.

Speaking about Semenyo, Guardiola said: “I didn’t speak with him. Hopefully fine and in a good mentality.

“It’s not easy to sometimes come back to a place where you are appreciated and had good performances with his old mates and staff.

“Hopefully he knows what we are playing for.”

Be at the first public event in the new North Stand!

This Wednesday, the first-ever fan event is planned to take place within the expanded section of the Etihad Stadium’s North Stand.

This landmark occasion forms part of the phased opening of the expansion, with a series of public and private test events designed to assess key operational elements of the facility.

Subject to the new areas successfully passing initial internal checks, the event on Wednesday 20 May, will operate at 50% of the additional seating capacity, allowing more than 3,500 fans to attend.

Should the test event be successful, the next phase will see us trial 100% capacity at the final Premier League home match of the season against Aston Villa. Hospitality areas, the fan zone and the wider Medlock Square development will open later in 2026.
