Guedes and Zubeldia ruled out for Real Sociedad’s Betis clash | OneFootball

Real Sociedad suffered a setback at Zubieta on Thursday, with Gonçalo Guedes and Igor Zubeldia training apart and ruled out for Saturday’s Betis visit, alongside suspended Aramburu and injured Odriozola and Rupérez.

According to Diario Vasco, Rupérez nevertheless returned to full training with the group, as did Jon Karrikaburu, who aims for a second chance under Pellegrino Matarazzo this Saturday.

The brighter note was that those who finished Monday’s match at Sevilla’s Sánchez Pizjuán with knocks trained normally. Sergio Gómez, Beñat Turrientes and Pablo Marín are in contention to face the visitors.

Despite shortages, particularly in defence, Matarazzo has called up only one Sanse player, goalkeeper Aitor Fraga. He prefers Luken Beitia to stay with the B team for Monday’s decisive trip to Huesca, though he could still draft him in on Friday, include him in the squad and use him only in case of maximum need.

The line-up is not expected to differ greatly from one of Remiro, Aritz, Jon Martín, Caleta-Car, Sergio Gómez, Gorrotxategi, Turrientes, Soler, Kubo, Oyarzabal and Barrene. Sucic in midfield or Marín in attack cannot be ruled out.

Friday’s 11:00 session is the last before the Anoeta game at 21:00 on Saturday. With Real having played on Monday, recovered on Tuesday and rested on Wednesday, preparation began only on Thursday, and there is a sense Betis have had longer to work. Matarazzo will speak at 14:00 on Friday.
