Ahead of their Champions League last-16 second-leg tie with Lille, Serhou Guirassy and head coach Niko Kovac spoke to the media at Borussia Dortmund’s press conference.
The Guinean striker is glad to be back facing his former employers and understood the criticism BVB have been subjected to in recent days.
“It’s obviously a special feeling, even though it’s been nine or ten years since I played here [in Lille]. I’m still happy.
“We have to accept the criticism; that’s part of it. In the end, we have to learn from it and get back to being positive.
“Basically, the mood is good, but everyone has to include themselves in the criticism,” Guirassy explained.
BVB boss Kovac also weighed in on the disappointing defeat to Augsburg last weekend and the fitness of Carney Chukwuemeka.
“The reaction of our fans after the Augsburg game was completely understandable. We have to face it; our fans have a very good sense. We didn’t see much of us that day.
“Carney is available, he has trained fully. He does not have the capacity for 90 minutes. We have seen his abilities. I hope that we will see them again if he is used for 20-30 minutes,” the 53-year-old gaffer noted.
Die Schwarzgelben take on LOSC Lille at the slightly earlier time of 6.45pm (CET) tomorrow evening. Check out our preview for the game here.
