Habib Diallo and Cheikh Sabaly back at Metz after Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph | OneFootball

According to L'Équipe, Habib Diallo and Cheikh Sabaly have returned to Metz after winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal and are in contention to face Lyon on Sunday at 17:15.

The pair reported back on Thursday, four days after Senegal sealed their second continental crown with a 1-0 victory over Morocco after extra time on Sunday night.

Metz’s dressing room marked their comeback. Both forwards are back in good shape and should be available for the home fixture.

Sabaly described the final as a special day and spoke of an indescribable feeling, expressing pride at winning the tournament and being part of the team.

Images showed young compatriots Ibou Sané and Alpha Touré posing with Diallo’s medal before it was handed to Benjamin Stambouli, while new head coach Benoît Tavenot offered his congratulations.
