FC Barcelona continue on their winning run in La Liga as they beat Real Oviedo in their last league encounter. However, getting the win against the newly –promoted side was not really easy, and the Catalans had once again to come from behind to get the full three points.

Hansi Flick was naturally quite happy with this result, even though he admitted his team made some mistakes that should have been avoided. As SPORT has reported, the German tactician revealed in his presser what he told the team in the half-time break, when the scoreline was 1-0 against them:

“We had many chances in the first half. I told the players that we had to stay calm and be confident in playing well with the ball. I think we achieved that, and the substitutions worked out well with Frenkie and especially with Lewandowski.”

The Barcelona coach highlighted the importance of set-pieces and congratulated Oviedo for defending well:

“They’re always a very important aspect of the game. Today, Oviedo defended very well, they blocked many balls and had a very deep block.”

Hansi Flick defended Joan Garcia despite his mistake leading to a goal against the Blaugrana team:

“It’s the style we want. The error is a consequence of our style; we want him to play like this in every game, but it’s something that can always happen. Joan is a fantastic goalkeeper and we all make mistakes—this is football. In the end, the important thing is that we came back.”

The German coach also expressed his happiness with Ronald Araujo’s form:

“He defends very well and I’m very happy for him. He’s a captain, and I’m convinced this will be a big step for him to trust more in himself. This season he has shown that he’s improved a lot compared to last season.

Pau and Íñigo played many games together last season and knew each other well. The important thing is that we have a ‘top’ defender at a very high level and with maximum confidence. That gives us many options.”

For now, Barcelona will be looking forward to play their next match against Real Sociedad, and Hansi Flick will be keen to get another full three points from that clash, especially as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are set to face off this weekend, and at least one of them is set to drop points.
