Happy birthday, Joao Mario! | OneFootball

It's a special day for Joao Mario, as the Portuguese winger turns 25 during his first season with the Juventus Men’s First Team after arriving in Turin last summer from Porto.

On the day of the home game against Lecce, Juventus' first of 2026, Joao Mario celebrates his first birthday away from Portugal; he was born in São João da Madeira - a municipality in the district of Aveiro - on 3 January 2000. 

It was with his hometown team, AD Sanjoanense, that Joao Mario took his first steps in the world of football before joining Porto's academy at the age of eight, where he went on to play for the first team until July 2025.

At Juventus, he has made 11 appearances in Serie A, the Italian Cup and the Champions League so far, including an assist in the comeback draw against Borussia Dortmund.
