Harry Kane is predicting an “even” Champions League final clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

Kane scored a goal deep into stoppage time in the second-leg decider against holders PSG at the Allianz Arena, which was enough to level the match on the night at 1-1 but came too late to inspire a last-gasp comeback or force extra time.

The reigning Bundesliga champions exited 6-5 on aggregate, having been edged out 5-4 in a pulsating first-leg meeting in Paris last week - a match in which the prolific Kane gave Bayern an early lead from the penalty spot and also later provided an assist for Luis Diaz.

He also expressed his frustration with the key refereeing decisions that Bayern believe went against them across the tie, including the controversial penalty given against Alphonso Davies in Paris and the lack of a spot-kick awarded for handball by Joao Neves in Bavaria, where the hosts also believed that Nuno Mendes was extremely fortunate to avoid being shown a second yellow card for handball in the first half.

Asked afterwards to offer his assessment for the final at Budapest’s Puskas Arena on May 30, Kane said that PSG were slight favourites but did not rule out a first Champions League triumph for old rivals Arsenal, who have reached the biggest game in European club football for only the second time after losing the 2005/06 showpiece to Barcelona in Paris.

“It is really even,” Kane said. “Two totally different teams in the way they play but two very strong teams. It will be an interesting final.

"PSG being champions probably hold the right to be slight favourites but overall, two top teams going at it and it will be an even match.

"Us and PSG have a similar way of going about it. Some of the other top teams have a different style.

"That is the beauty of football, it can be anything that gets you over the line."

Asked if he would watch the final, Kane said: “I don't know, it depends where I am. Right now, I am just disappointed.”

Kane addressed the Bayern fans with a social media post on X on Thursday morning, which read: “Not the night we believed in yesterday. These games come down to moments and unfortunately over the two legs we didn’t take enough of ours.

“Proud to be part of this team and club, the disappointment will be with us for a while but we have to stay focused on finishing the season strong with a [German Cup] final still to play. Thanks for the support as always and can’t wait to see the fans in Berlin.”
