Modric on his future

Modric admitted that there is no hurry in terms of renewing his contract at the Bernabeu.

“No hurry. I will discuss with the club what’s the best option for them and for me. We haven’t talked yet,” he said.

Modric’s statement suggests both parties are approaching the situation calmly and not looking to rush things, knowing there is substantial understanding between the player and the club.

Recent reports do suggest that Modric is more than willing to continue at Bernabeu for another year and that is something Real Madrid will surely be aware of.

Modric on Mbappe and playing in France

Modric went on to talk about Kylian Mbappe and his integration at Real Madrid so far.

The Croatian heaped praise on the former PSG superstar, stating, “No need to say anything. He is one of the best. He make things easy, maybe I’d never seen this before.”

“What surprised me the most is the person he is. He’s an incredible guy, very humble, always joking with us, very calm.”

Talking about his performance for Real Madrid this season, Modric pointed out the number of goals he has scored. “People say this is not his best season but he has already scored 30 goals, now imagine if he improves his level. He is incredible,” he added.

Modric went on to back Mbappe to win multiple Ballon d’Or titles, stating, “If Kylian continues to do things like this and help Real Madrid like he’s doing I’m sure he will be one of the favourites to win not one but a few Ballon D’Or.”

Finally, Modric was asked whether or not he would like to play in France somewhere down the line.

“It didn’t happen but I had some options. When I left Tottenham… but there was only Real Madrid and nothing more mattered,” he concluded.
