At the start of the event at Schloss Guteneck, which got underway in fitting style with firecrackers and a brass band, Herbert Hainer was presented with an umbrella – naturally in FC Bayern red, as befits the president of the German champions. Hainer had travelled to the Upper Palatinate especially to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Nabburg Fan Club – one of the largest, with over 6,500 members – with several hundred fans. And because he'd taken on the patronage of the event, he received the appropriate gift in the club colours from president Bernd Hofmann.
Hainer spent over an hour posing for photos, then took part in a Q&A session to address all the questions from the attendees about FC Bayern. Topics included the past season (“the women's and men's double wins – that’s historic and outstanding”), the European scoring record of 122 goals set by Harry Kane and his teammates (“better than Real Madrid with Cristiano Ronaldo in 2011/12, which was considered the 'millennial record' – so FC Bayern are breaking millennial records”) and the purchase of the Sportpark for the FC Bayern women (“a sign of things to come: bring on the future”).
At the event, Hainer also touched on the club’s record membership of well over 432,500, spoke about the dialogue initiatives, the FCB ‘PACK MA’S’ volunteer programme and the ‘ZAM AKTIV’ exercise initiative, and once again reiterated the guiding principle of his presidency: “FC Bayern must never become a footballing corporation.” The club must “always move with the times – but we are aware of our roots and will preserve our core”.
The fan club was founded in 1991, having grown out of a long-standing relationship between the football section of TV Nabburg and FC Bayern. Its members come from over 600 towns and villages, and now also from abroad (including Austria, Switzerland, Australia and Japan). The highlight in 2008 was the ‘Dream Match’ between the FC Bayern first team and a fan club selection at the Amberg Stadium. In recent years, the club has hosted numerous guests from FC Bayern, including long-serving CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Müller.
During the first half of 2026, FC Bayern once again had the opportunity to experience first-hand what FCB passion is all about during its visits to regional fan clubs:
