England's youth side knew all they had to do was defeat Egypt to ensure that they progressed automatically into the next round, while the possibility of finishing first was based on Venezuela's result against Haiti.
The young Lions started the game well and took the lead through a superb strike from Manchester City's Reigan Heskey, The forward had three defenders in front of him but was still able to cut onto his right foot to fire a shot into the bottom corner.
Egypt did threaten and wanted a penalty for a potential foul on Anas Roshdi by Louis Page but despite a VAR review, no penalty was given for what would have been a soft decision.
The Egyptians had the ball in the first minute of stoppage time after a free-kick was palmed away by Jack Porter. The Arsenal goalkeeper did well to then stop the rebound but couldn't prevent a further rebound only for the offside flag to save England.
There was concern of a potential red card for England for Chizaram Ezenwata's late foul on goalkeeper Omar Abdelaziz but the Chelsea youngster avoided anything harsher than a yellow card.
Egypt almost took the lead early into the second half when Belal Ateya's superbly-struck effort was just tipped away by Porter.
England doubled the lead in the 55th minute through a quick counter attack with Luca Williams-Barnett playing in Heskey who had plenty of time and space. The striker kept his cool and slotted the ball through the legs of the goalkeeper'
Heskey had the chance to make it 3-0 from the penalty spot with just over an hour gone. However, Heskey's penalty was poor with Abdelaziz doing well to get down and keep the effort out before doing even better to prevent Seth Ridgeon from scoring on the follow up.
England wrapped up the win in some style in the 90th minute as the fresh legs of substitute Harrison Miles saw him fly down the right before finding a gap between the goalkeeper and the near post.
Venezuela's expected win over means England finished the group second but still qualified automatically.
Liam Bramley's side don't know who their Round of 32 opponents will be with more group stage games to be played and with group winners and runners-up seeded based on their performances.
