Ruben Amorim says striker Rasmus Hojlund has plenty of improving to do despite netting a double in Man Utd’s 3-2 win over Bodø/Glimt.
United found themselves 2-1 down after Alejandro Garnacho had opened the scoring inside a minute but Hojlund scored twice to secure a first victory in charge of the club for Amorim in his first game at Old Trafford.
But the United boss has urged Hojlund to keep improving: “I think he has to improve more because sometimes he takes too many touches when he holds the ball,” Amorim explained.
“But he’s very important for us because when we are in a low block, he is the guy who can connect for transitions and he did that very well. He has those characteristics.
“He was aggressive in the goals, he was aggressive in the box and he is a quality player.
“I think he scores the most difficult goals. He has a lot to improve but it’s the same for every player. He did a great job today.”
Amorim was pleased with the victory despite some shaky moments for United.
“We improved with the ball, we controlled the tempo more with the ball, we pushed the team a bit higher and we created more chances.
“We should kill the game before the end and we suffered two transitions. I think we need to improve on that, it was physical things like one against one. We have to improve on that.”
