There is every chance Ederson ends up being a good fit for the Red Devils, who are in desperate need for midfielders who can add technical value to the team.

While Atalanta will miss his undoubted quality, they are ready with ideas.

Cagliari’s Gianluca Gaetano has proved himself in Serie A, having previously struggled to break in at Napoli. He is also on Atalanta’s radar, with Bayern Munich talent Guido Della Rovere also seen as a younger option.

Atta should replace Ederson

While Udinese have always shown inclination towards selling their best players to foreign clubs, Atalanta can’t miss out on the chance to sign Atta. He is quite similar to Ederson in terms of his ability to maraud forward, come up with important contributions in the final third and often beat the press.

Atalanta will have enough money from Ederson’s sale and this should put them in the driving seat for the Frenchman.
