Ronald Araujo’s continued absence remains one of the most discussed topics among Barcelona supporters.
Ever since the heavy 0-3 defeat to Chelsea, the Uruguayan defender has been on an indefinite leave, leaving fans searching for clarity over when, or even how, he might return.
While the setback against Chelsea acted as the breaking point, concerns surrounding Araujo’s situation had reportedly been building internally for weeks.
According to information from Catalunya Radio, relayed by SPORT, the uncertainty around the captain prompted several senior players to take a proactive step inside the dressing room.
Rather than allowing doubt to linger, a group of players approached Hansi Flick to express their concern and, more importantly, their willingness to help the team cope with Araujo’s absence.
The discussion reportedly took place in a collective huddle, with multiple players contributing and offering solutions.
During this exchange, the squad made it clear that they were ready to put themselves fully at the service of the team to compensate for the loss of one of their most influential figures.

Flick responded that the most effective way to support Araujo was not through words, but through performances.
As such, key figures such as Jules Kounde, Frenkie de Jong, and Andreas Christensen were involved in the conversation.
Some players, including Kounde and De Jong, even went a step further by making themselves available to play out of position if required, particularly in central defence.
Flick welcomed the attitude and used the moment to reinforce one of his core beliefs: versatility is one of the strongest assets within this Barcelona squad.
That belief is already being reflected on the pitch. Flick has regularly leaned on adaptable profiles such as Eric Garcia, Gerard Martin, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, all of whom have shown a willingness to take on different roles when asked.
The internal discussion left the coach feeling encouraged, as it confirmed the unity and collective responsibility he considers essential for long-term success.
