Chelsea have been on a run that has taken some of the shine off what looked like a strong start to the season.

After an eye-catching 3-0 Champions League win over Barcelona and a brave 1-1 draw away to Arsenal despite playing with ten men, expectations were high heading into December.

However, the Blues have since gone three games without a win and are hoping to end that run when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge later today.

A shocking 3-1 defeat against relegation-battling Leeds United and a flat goalless draw against Bournemouth have seen Chelsea drop to fifth in the Premier League table.

The Blues head into Saturday’s home fixture eight points off league leaders Arsenal but still within touching distance of the top four.

Chelsea’s shaky record at the Bridge is also an area of concern heading into the game against Everton.

The Blues tend to let leads slip on home turf and have dropped eight points from winning positions already this season.

But their home record against Everton raises hopes of a return to winning ways.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 30 home league games against the Toffees (W17, D13), a record that should give Maresca’s side confidence of getting back on track.

How Chelsea could line up

Chelsea will be without six players for the game against Everton at the Bridge, but Enzo Maresca still has enough to name a strong starting line-up.

November’s PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month, Robert Sanchez, should take his place between the sticks behind a back four of Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marc Cucurella.

After sitting out the last two games, Andrey Santos will be raring to go alongside Enzo Fernandez in midfield.

Joao Pedro should lead the line with Liam Delap set for a spell on the sidelines.
