The USMNT international has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium over time
Coventry City are on the verge of wrapping up their first return to the Premier League in a quarter of a century, having recovered from a minor blip at the beginning of 2026 to go 10 points clear at the top of the table with four matches to spare.
The Sky Blues have been on a well-documented upward curve for some time now, but have gone from strength-to-strength under Doug King's ownership and under the management of Frank Lampard.
The current boss at the CBS Arena inherited a side down on its luck in November 2024 following the prior departure of modern-day Coventry icon and now-Stoke City manager, Mark Robins, but is now also held in a strong regard by those on the terraces.
As such, they have the chance to seal their promotion on Friday night against relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, with a point all the Sky Blues need on that front.
And, after Ipswich Town failed to solidify their position in the top two with a shock defeat to Portsmouth in midweek, Lampard's team could even be crowned champions as early as Sunday afternoon depending on how the result of the Tractor Boys' pivotal clash with Middlesbrough at Portman Road unfolds.
Given their performances throughout the season, the current squad in this part of the West Midlands will go down in history, and that has also increased the interest in their services from clubs in the division they are destined to finally reach.
USMNT international and Coventry's club-record buy, Haji Wright, is certainly one of those who falls into said category, and it has now been reported how his current employers feel about a potential exit ahead of the summer window.

Despite being one of the Championship's most potent goalscorers this season with a tally of 16 goals in 36 appearances, the 28-year-old has been a divisive figure amongst Coventry supporters.
The forward had netted nine of those strikes before the turn of 2026, before a crucial hat-trick against Middlesbrough on February 16th kickstarted another purple patch, although he hasn't netted in over a month now whilst also suffering a calf issue ahead of the recent international break.
Despite his mixed fortunes, Wright has continued to be the subject of strong transfer speculation at points of the season, with West Ham United, in particular, keeping a keen eye on his situation.
Indeed, in December, it was claimed that he is of such importance to the Sky Blues that a £200m price-tag was quoted amid initial interest from the Hammers.
Football Insider have now reiterated the relegation-threatened Hammers' interest in the 20-time international, but also state that Coventry are 'very optimistic' regarding their chances of retaining Wright's services.
It has also been stated that Lampard has pleaded to owner, King, that he wishes to keep all key players at the CBS Arena ahead of their first Premier League stint since 2000/01.

Wright is currently under contract with Coventry until next summer after penning a four-year deal in his switch from Antalyaspor in 2023, and he will certainly hope he can prove his worth in the Premier League for the first time.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see Lampard potentially reshuffle his attacking options next term to give the club its best possible chance of survival, meaning that the striker may not feature in each and every single one of the 38 games in the season.
However, there is still a possibility that Coventry are to be a division above West Ham in a few months' time.
That said, many are under the impression that the side most likely to join Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley in the second tier are Tottenham Hotspur, who are winless since late December in domestic competitions, whilst Nuno Espírito Santo's side recently climbed out of the relegation zone with a crucial 4-0 win over Wolves, establishing a two-point buffer with six games to play.
