How Hansi Flick reacted to Dro’s decision to leave Barcelona | OneFootball

An insight into the response of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick to the call of Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernández to depart the club has come to the fore online.

And it confirms that the German was left less than impressed.

Youngster Dro has of course taken his place at the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the evening to date.

This comes after widespread reports confirmed some altogether disappointing news for Barcelona…

Underwhelmed by the senior game-time (five appearances) afforded to him across the season to date, Dro has decided to move on.

The 18-year-old will now seek out a new club during the January window, taking advantage of a cut-price release clause in his contract.

Dro, it is understood, made his decision known to Hansi Flick and the Barcelona board over the last 24 hours.

And the Blaugrana’s headmaster, for one, was left taken aback by the news.

As per a report from Laia Tudel, speaking on Cat Radio on Friday:

“We’re told that Dro’s conversation with Hansi Flick really surprised the coach, and that he took it badly. Flick had said he was counting heavily on the player. He had great confidence in him, and the club saw him as someone destined for a bright future.”
