A fully-fledged Canada international, she arrives at the Club with 28 caps to her name and a wealth of experience facing different opponents and styles as a result.

Not only has she impressed for the senior team, the 22-year-old has played in various youth tournaments including the 2018 CONCACAF Under-17s Championship where she helped her nation finish third.

For Rose, that exposure to various challenges throughout her time in international football will be precious as she adapts to the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“I think the international stage forces you to adapt very quickly to different styles of play,” she explained.

“I think that’s something I’ll have to face here at the professional level, playing against world class players is something you deal with on the international stage and the pressure that comes with games and the magnitude of every single game matters.

“I think that’s something playing at the professional level week-in, week-out, you have to win games and perform.

“That’s the same thing you face on the international level every single time you enter into camp.

“Every single time you’re in competition, those games matter, those points matter and having to perform at a moment’s notice is something that you practice there, and I’ll implement.”

Sport has always been the centrepiece of Rose’s family with her father a former American footballer and her mother playing ringette.

This saw City’s newest recruit involved in a variety of sports during her childhood and she explained how the competitiveness among her siblings instilled a relentless work ethic which has led her to England.

She added: “Both my parents grew up playing sports, my dad played American football and my mum played football herself.

“So, athletics was always in the picture for my family and I. My sister also plays football, she’s currently in the collegiate system in SMU [Southern Methodist University], she recently had her first cap with the women’s team.

“Growing up alongside her and going from playing in our local park to playing on the world stage with her was a dream come true. It’s always been at the centre of my family and my younger brother also plays football so it’s always on the TV on the weekends.

“It’s always a constant point of conversation. You could say our family is one of the most competitive families I’ve ever met. That drive has helped me become the athlete I am today.”
